DENR mandates ISO certification for mining contractors

Secretary Ramon J. P. Paje of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) recently signed Administrative Order (DAO) 2015-07 mandating all mining contractors to secure the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 14001 Certification.

PAHRODF awards MGB employees with scholarship grants

In support of the Philippine Development Plan of the Aquino Administration, the Philippines-Australia Human Resource and Organizational Development Facility (PAHRODF) recently awarded six technical employees of the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) with scholarship grants for graduate courses under the Australia Awards Scholarships program of the Australian Government.

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) recently issued Administrative Order (DAO) No. 2015-02 intended to harmonize certain provisions of Presidential Decree (PD) No. 1586, or the ''Philippine Environmental Impact Statement System" and Republic Act (RA) No. 7942, or the Philippine Mining Act of 1995.”

MICC to MGB: validate applicants for mining area expansion

The Mining Industry Coordinating Council (MICC) recently transferred to the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) the task of validating applications for area expansion, a role which was given to the MICC through its Technical Working Group on Environmental Protection and Legislation (TWG-EPL) pursuant to Department of Environment and Natural Resources Administrative Order (DAO) No. 2014-06 dated July 21, 2014.

723 applicants vie for MGB posts

A total 723 examinees, composed of employees and outside applicants, took the simultaneous nationwide recruitment tests administered by the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) recently. Said examinations are part of the recruitment process prescribed by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) in order to select the right people for the right job. This is also pursuant to the approved Merit Selection and Promotion Plan of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.

MGB to adopt DBM-prescribed budgeting scheme
