The Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) - Department of Environment and Natural Resources recently hosted the Mining Task Force (MTF) Meetings of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) during the Senior Officials Meeting 3 in Cebu City. The MTF Meetings consisted of the MTF Workshop, The Public-Private Dialogue (PPD) and the 9th MTF Meeting.

Composite team investigates alleged Aroroy environmental destruction

A Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) composed of technical personnel from the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) Central Office and the Regional Offices of the Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) and Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) in Region V recently conducted an investigation of the alleged environmental destruction caused by the mining operation of Filminera Resources Corporation (FRC) in Aroroy, Masbate.

Gov’t sustains drive against illegal mining

A team from the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB), National Bureau of Investigation and National Prosecution Service recently conducted follow-up field inspections and inventory of seized minerals, equipment and mining-related structures and implements in known illegal mining hotspots. This sustained effort is part of the government’s continuing campaign against illegal mining.
