With the great transition to the digital world due to the demands from the pandemic, the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) through the Mineral Economics, Information and Publication Division (MEIPD) held a four-day training program to enhance the communication skills of Information Officers, Information Technology Specialists, Planning Officers, and Economists fit for the New Normal.
The training was held from July 13-16, 2021 via Zoom with the theme, "Strengthening Communication to a Better Normal". It aims to equip MGB's communications professionals of the appropriate skills needed to hold effective virtual meetings, webinars, website and social media management, and virtual public speaking.
The virtual training was comprised of a series of lectures focused on the following topics with the names of its respective lecturers:
- July 13, 2021 – How to Organize a Virtual Event in the Philippines by Ms. Gen Lee
- July 14, 2021 – Photo and Video Editing by Mr. Jeffrey Brylle Estigoy
- July 15, 2021 – Public Speaking and Presentation Skills by Mr. Joey E. Reyes
- July 16, 2021 –Social Media Management by Mr. Neil Dimapilis and Joomla Management by Mr. Bryan Mico Lilio
Each lecturer demonstrated their respective expertise and also conducted a series of exercises for better hands-on skills development for the participants. The training conductor also provided soft copy provisions of post-training toolkits.
