Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) ISO Group, comprised of the Management Representative, the Lead Internal Auditor, the Document Control Head, Internal Auditors, and Document Controllers, recently attended two (2) training courses for ISO 9001:2015, Quality Management System, and ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System implementation, namely: “The Internal Audit Training” and “The Strategic Approach to Risk-Based Thinking Training” via Microsoft Teams last August 16-18, 2021, and August 23-25, 2021, respectively.
The said training courses were facilitated by BSI Group Philippines, Inc., which aimed to orient and update both the existing and new members of MGB ISO Group on the basic requirements of the two (2) management systems and develop their skills in performing internal audit and risk assessment.
The Internal Audit Training capacitated the participants in planning, conducting, and reporting Internal Audits as well as recommending corrective actions in line with ISO 19011:2018, “Guidelines for auditing management systems.”
The Strategic Approach to Risk-Based Thinking Training, on the other hand, provided the participants with appropriate risk management tools/techniques that complement with the operations of MGB. The said training also resulted in the improvement of the existing risk management process of MGB.
MGB is committed to continuously enhance and develop its ISO management systems in order to provide better services for its clientele while protecting the environment.
