Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) Region IV-B MIMAROPA recently conducted its two-day #MineResponsiblity Stakeholders' Forum via Zoom Meetings and Facebook Live on September 16 and 17, 2021.

MGB MIMAROPA gathered participants from the local government units, non-government agencies, civil society organizations, private sector, members of the academe, and the media.

Apart from presenting the region's current monitoring of mining activities, best wildlife, and environment protection practices, addressing illegal mining activities in the region, and discussing the state of mining communities and rehabilitation of mined-out areas; MGB MIMAROPA held the forum to focus on the mining industry's nationwide information and education campaign, #MineResponsibiliity.

Together with its partner agencies and mining companies, MGB MIMAROPA set the forum to enable its stakeholders to address their issues and concerns pertaining to mining in the region to make way for an effective communication campaign on responsible mining.

MGB Director Atty. Wilfredo G. Moncano gave an inspirational message for the regional office and the participants, emphasizing the importance of creating an opportunity of a greater interaction between stakeholders and the government.
