The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) conducted the hybrid turnover ceremony of the new DENR Secretary, Hon. Ma. Antonia Yulo-Loyzaga, on July 21, 2022, at the DENR Social Hall.

Presided by DENR Undersecretary Ernesto Adobo, the flag of the Department was handed over to the new Environment Chief. DENR officials and employees, DENR regional directors, bureau directors, and attached agencies, were in attendance to formally welcome Secretary Yulo-Loyzaga. Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) Director Atty. Wilfredo G. Moncano was also present for the ceremony.

Sec. Yulo-Loyzaga took her oath on July 19, 2022, as the new secretary of the DENR under the administration of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. at the Malacañang Palace.

She served as chairperson of the International Advisory Board of the Manila Observatory and as the Executive Director of the Manila Observatory and Technical Adviser of the Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation, advocating for scientific research and disaster resilience.

MGB is delighted to have Ms. Yulo-Loyzaga as the new DENR Secretary. The mining bureau is also looking forward to an effective partnership with the Secretary toward a more sustainable and developed mining industry.
