The Mineral Economics, Information, and Publication Division (MEIPD) of Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) spearheaded a face-to-face Basic Public Relations and Crisis Management Training on December 19-20, 2022 at the Makati Palace Hotel.
The program was officially opened through the event’s emcee, Ms. Diory G. Carr, Development Management Officer III, MEIPD-MGB. Afterwards, MGB Director Atty. Wilfredo G. Moncano delivered his opening remarks virtually, while an inspirational speech by Chamber of Mines Executive Director Atty. Ronald Recidoro was conveyed personally at the venue.

For the first day of the training, Ms. Maria Teresa L. Pacis, Assistant Vice President for Corporate Affairs, Apex Mining Co. Inc., discussed lectures on multiple topics regarding public relations, media landscape, and crisis communication. During the evening, the participants were able to participate in a socials event dressed in their best traditional clothing and work with each other in groups to give entertaining presentations based on what they learned earlier during the day.

As for the second and last day of the training, Mr. Gil Velez, Strategic Planning Consultants, Dominguez Marketing Communications, Inc., provided a case studies of crisis management and multiple crisis scenarios where attendees can discuss how they would respond to the case scenarios they were given.
