In cooperation with the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, through the OCD (Office of Civil Defense), the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) Central Office joined in the 2023 First Quarter Nationwide Earthquake Simultaneous Drill on March 9, 2023, at 2:00pm.

The OCD urged the public to participate in the said drill and they also held an online ceremonialpressingof the button, emergency coordination, and communication simulation on their Facebook page via Live streaming.

MGB participated on the “duck, cover, hold” simulation, adhering to the minimum health and safety standard requirements.

The quarterly nationwide earthquake drills are done as a means for the government to encourage community resilience and disaster readiness among the public.
