The Association of Special Libraries of the Philippines (ASLP) is a non-stock, non-profit organization composed of special librarians from government institutions, private sectors, business community and the academe. It aims to motivate the professional enhancement of its members and their personnel by providing advanced learning, propagate theoretical knowledge and strengthen partnerships and linkages among special libraries in the Philippines.

As a commitment to the continuous professional development of the employees, Mses. Jedidia T. Acuña and Maria Teresa V. Tolentino, Librarian and Administrative Assistant II, respectively, of the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) - Central Office, participated in the said 10th ASLP National Congress from August 16-18, 2023, in the Pinnacle Hotel and Suites, Davao City, Davao del Sur.

The training-workshop aims to equip librarians with the essential knowledge and skills to navigate the ever-changing landscape of technology and innovation. It aims to have librarians keep up with the latest trends in librarianship, to apply a gradual shift to a digital library, to foster a more positive professional relationship, and strengthen library services.

This valuable experience allowed the MGB library staff to enhance their knowledge and skills in the field of librarianship, ensuring that the library services meet the evolving needs of the stakeholders.
