The Mineral Economics, Information and Publication Division (MEIPD) of the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) and the Philippines- ASEAN Mineral Awards (AMA) Technical Working Committee (TWC) facilitated the evaluation of the ASEAN candidates for the 3rd ASEAN Mineral Awards last September 5-6, 2023 at the 2nd floor, Office of the Director Conference Room of the MGB.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the evaluation criteria and to guide the evaluators in rating the submitted report entries of each ASEAN country candidate for the 3rd AMA. In addition, the meeting also discussed the new criteria to be considered in the evaluation, as provided in the updated guidelines of the AMA.
The PH-AMA TWC evaluated the ASEAN country candidates for the following categories:
- Minerals Mining (Metallic)
- Minerals Mining (Non-Metallic)
- Minerals Processing (Metallic)
- Minerals Processing (Non-Metallic)
- Minerals Distribution (Metallic)
- Minerals Distribution (Non-Metallic)
The timeline and guidelines for the 3rd AMA was conveyed to recap the evaluators of the ASEAN candidates. The PH-AMA TWC Secretariat also reminded that the deadline of submission of entries to Board of Judges (BOJ) Chairperson by category is on September 13, 2023.
The PH-AMA TWC Secretariat will tabulate the scores of each country candidate for the approval of the Chairperson.
The consolidated candidates’ scores by category will be submitted to the BOJ on or before September 13, 2023.
