The Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) participated in the Strategic Communications Planning Workshop for the National Unified Information, Education and Communication Program (NUIECP) facilitated by The EON Group last August 31 to September 1, 2023 at the PSE Tower in Bonifacio Global City and online via Zoom.

The said event was designed to bring together for the first time the key representatives of the industry to brainstorm, collaborate and create a comprehensive communications plan that aligns with the NUIECP goals and objectives

Mr. Rocky Dimaculangan, Vice President for Communications and National Coordinator for Towards Sustainable Mining, Chamber of Mines of the Philippines, officially opened the program through a welcome message, followed by the ice-breaker activity for the participants to get to know each other well.

The two-day workshop reviewed the stakeholder, public, and media perceptions and misconceptions; identified the opportunities and threats; defined the key communication   objectives; and identified the key communication strategies to be implemented for the next three (3) years. Ms. Vikki Luta of the Eon Group led the participants in the said activities.

The participants of the said workshop also include communication representatives from the seven mining industry associations.
