Engineers from the Mines and Geosciences Bureau’s Metallurgical Technology Division (MeTD), Engrs. Chris G. Arnejo and Geleni Shalaine P. Bello, participated in the Filipinnovation Entrepreneurship Corps (FEC) 4 Program, which was facilitated by the Department of Science and Technology - Philippine Council for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development (DOST-PCIEERD) and in partnership with De La Salle University (DLSU). The FEC 4 Training Program was a six (6)-week experiential training program conducted both in-person at Br. Andrew Gonzalez Hall, DLSU, and through Zoom meetings from August 16 to September 22, 2023.
A total of eighteen (18) teams, composed of researchers and professionals, joined the FEC 4 Cohort 2, aiming to assess the commercial and societal benefits of their technological discoveries.
The said program immersed the participants in real-world/hands-on learning experiences with customer discovery and successful transfer of knowledge into products and processes that benefit society, allowing the team to engage with key personnel from the mining and mineral processing industry and other potential customers of their technology and innovation through interviews.
