The Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) - Mineral Economics, Information and Publication Division (MEIPD) conducted the “Workshop/Training and Capacity Building for MGB Personnel Responsible for Statistical Data Generation/Analysis and Information Dissemination”  last October 16-20 at Swiss-Belhotel Bluelane, Binondo, Manila and via Microsoft Teams.

MEIPD Chief Engr. Romualdo D. Aguilos, delivered the opening remarks on behalf of Atty. Danilo U. Uykieng, MGB Director. He also explained the workshop’s Rationale and Objectives, which served as a guide for the participants.

During Day 1, the Description of Performance Indicators of Regional Offices, Proposed Standardization of Regional Websites, and Creation of MGB Website Content Calendar were presented. Meanwhile, Social Media Management Tools and Data Visualization were discussed on Day 2.

On the other hand, breakout rooms for Statistics/ Economics Group, IEC Group, and IT Personnel were created on Days 3 and 4. Each group discussed their section’s outputs, monitoring, and planning developments.

On the last day, MEIPD sections presented their Commitments, Agreements and Ways forward. The event concluded with Engr. Aguilos delivering the closing remarks on behalf of Engr. Teodorico A. Sandoval, OIC-Assistant Director.

The five (5)-day workshop/training was attended by Statisticians, Economists, Information Officers, and IT personnel from MGB Central and Regional Offices.
