The Philippine Mine Safety and Environment Association (PMSEA), the country’s forerunner in the promotion of occupational safety and health, sound environmental management and social responsibility in the minerals industry, will hold its 69th Annual National Mine Safety and Environment Conference (ANMSEC) at CAP-John Hay Trade and Cultural Center, Baguio City on November 14-17, 2023.
This is in coordination with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Mines and Geosciences Bureau, the Chamber of Mines of the Philippines, the Philippine Society of Mining Engineers (PSEM), mining companies, quarries, cement plants, suppliers, service contractors and other professional organizations.
The theme for this year’s ANMSEC is “Mining 4.0: Safer, Smarter, and Sustainable”. Annually, various sectors in the mining industry, such as partners, members, mining contractors, mining suppliers, academe, students, professional organizations, community development officers, government officials and employees are attending the PMSEA’s celebration of ANMSEC at Baguio, City.

Among the highlights of ANMSEC’s yearly activities are the following:
- Sports Fest (Badminton, Golf, Bowling, and Lawn Tennis)
- Mining Exhibit by Mining Companies and Suppliers
- YAMAN PH Student Congress
- Community Relations Officers Conference National Community Relations Practitioners in the Philippine Mining/Minerals Industry
- Minerals Industry Symposium in cooperation with PSEM
- Minerals Industry Parade
- Mine Safety Field Demonstration and Field Competition
The Testimonial Dinner and Annual Awards Night is the culminating activity in the celebration of 69th ANMSEC. The contenders vying for the Presidential Mineral Industry Environmental Award for best mining practices in the country will be awarded to mining companies engaged in mineral exploration, quarry operation, surface mining operation, underground mining operation and mineral processing. Winners of the 2023 Best Mining Forest Contest, Safest Mines Awards, and Best Mines Personalities will also be awarded during the said event.
