The Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) concluded its Annual Technical Forum for Mining from September 26-29, 2023 with the theme, “#TheFutureIsMINE: Innovative Technologies and Practices in Geosciences and Minerals Industry”, bringing together industry experts, professionals, and stakeholders to discuss the latest developments and challenges in the mining sector.

The one-week event, held at the Chali Resort and Conference Center, Cagayan de Oro City and hosted by MGB Region X, featured a diverse range of sessions covering topics such as technological innovations, sustainable mining practices, environmental stewardship, and regulatory updates. Participants had the opportunity to engage in insightful discussions and present the latest in mining and geology research and development.

These research endeavors promise to shape new policies, introduce innovations, and establish best practices for the continuous advancement of mineral resources and geosciences.

After the presentation of 15 technical papers, 7 policy papers, 3 special papers and 8 posters, the forum culminated in the awarding of the following winners:
