The Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) celebrated its 125th Founding Anniversary last November 29, 2023 at the MGB Compound, North Avenue, Quezon City with the theme: “125 years of Shaping Sustainable Futures: Upholding Prudent Management of Nation’s Mineral Resources.”

Employees and personnel from the Central Office (CO) joined face to face, while the Regional Offices (ROs) joined online via Microsoft Teams.

The event started with the celebration of the Holy Mass, followed by the opening remarks by the MGB Director Atty. Danilo U. Uykieng which was delivered by the OIC Assistant Director Engr. Teodorico Sandoval.

AD Sandoval reminded everyone about MGB’s critical role in the increasing demand for resources due to climate change, but he then reaffirms the commitment to setting the standard for excellence in the field of mining and geosciences.

MGB also recognized esteemed employees and personnel from the CO and ROs for their loyalty and services to the bureau.

Mr. Hector S. Andres, Roberto D. Caseros and Ms. Carina V. Pecson  of the Metalurgical Technology Division (MTMD), Manuel M. Binuya from the Mining Tenements Management Division, Engr. Bernardo V. Bitanga, Chief of MTMD, Mr. Raymund Thaddeus C. Ancog from Lands Geological Survey Division, Jesus Floyd G. Rodriguez from the Marine Geological Survey Division, and  Mr. Engr. Marcial H. Mateo, Chief of Mine Safety, Environment and Social Development Division were among the loyalty awardees from the MGB CO.

The day concluded with the pageant search for Mr. and Ms. MGB, wherein representatives from MGB CO and ROs showcased their talent and intellect.
