Fifty new Metallurgical Engineers passed the licensure examination given recently by the Professional Regulatory Board for Metallurgical Engineering (PRB-MET) of the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).
The recent batch of board passers were among the 75 examinees who took the Metallurgical Engineering Licensure Examinations given simultaneously last October 13-15 in Manila and Davao City.
"The number of licensed Metallurgical Engineers had consistently increased through the years, catering to the dynamic demand for technical personnel in the minerals and metals industry here and abroad," said Engr. Juancho Pablo S. Calvez, Chief of the Metallurgical Technology Division of the Mines and Geosciences Bureau and Member of the PRB-MET of the PRC.
These young professionals will choose which field of practice they will take: Mineral Processing/Extractive Metallurgy, Physical/Adaptive Metallurgy, or the academe.
The new batch of engineers will be in the forefront in the implementation of value-adding activities and the development of downstream industries for the minerals and metals sector.
