A livelihood training session on baking Christmas goods and ham making was held on December 14–15, 2023, at the MGB Multi-Purpose Hall, as part of a deliberate effort to improve economic prospects and strengthen self-sufficiency among MGB employees. The NEGOSKWELA Livelihood and Technology Training Center and the MGB Administrative Division, through its Human Resource Management Section, collaborated to organize the training, which was designed to give senior citizens and people with disabilities the necessary skills for self-employment and business entrepreneurship ventures after their retirement. It will help them earn extra income and seek new economic opportunities.

The training program gave the staff a crucial foundation on which to build their practical knowledge and skills in baking Christmas treats and ham production. Through in-depth seminars, facilitators from NEGOSKWELA imparted to participants not only the technical requirements but also the nuances of starting a small business. By taking a complete approach, the goal was to provide people with a thorough grasp of production techniques, packaging, marketing tactics, and fundamental business management abilities.

The initiative marked a significant step forward in ensuring the economic sustainability and self-reliance of the employees. Beyond meeting local demands, the acquired skills in crafting household items provide bright opportunities for revenue income generation.

Atty. Danilo Uykieng commended the MGB Administrative Division's and NEGOSKWELA's cooperative effort, highlighting the bureau's dedication to employee empowerment via skill-building initiatives. He reaffirmed the organization's commitment to providing its staff members with options that improve their capacity for subsistence and develop a sense of empowerment.

In addition to teaching useful skills, the Livelihood Training reflects the organization's dedication to promoting socioeconomic growth within. It is evidence of the agency's proactive efforts to provide viable career paths that allow staff members to prosper and make valuable contributions to their development.
