Manila, Philippines – August 5, 2024 – The Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) has been awarded as one of the 30 outstanding institutional partners by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP). This accolade was awarded during the 2024 Outstanding BSP Stakeholders Appreciation Ceremony (OBSAC) held on August 2, 2024, at the BSP’s Manila Head Office.
BSP Governor Eli M. Remolona, Jr. led the ceremony, acknowledging the critical contributions of the MGB as a primary data resource in the periodic review of the balance of payments projections conducted by the BSP’s Department of Economic Research.
The MGB’s comprehensive and accurate data have been instrumental in aiding the BSP’s economic analyses and policymaking, particularly in developing balance of payments projections, which are crucial for the country's financial planning.
In its twentieth year, the OBSAC honors the priceless efforts of numerous organizations that uphold the mission of the BSP. Similar appreciation ceremonies are scheduled for the outstanding partners of the BSP offices in North Luzon, South Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
