In preparation for the upcoming November 2024 Geologist Licensure Examination, 34 geology graduates from leading universities across the Philippines visited the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) last August 12, 2024, for a comprehensive lecture and tour.

This visit was organized as part of the Geology Board Review program by Cwm Zena’na (CZ), an all-female, academic, professional, and nonpartisan organization affiliated with the University of the Philippines - National Institute of Geological Sciences (UP-NIGS) in Diliman. The program aims to provide participants with valuable perspectives on their future careers as geologists, and insights into potential government roles.

The participants included graduates from Adamson University, Caraga State University, Mapua University, Negros Oriental State University, Partido State University, UP Diliman, and the University of Southeastern Philippines.

The day began with a series of informative lectures at the Crispin Hall of the Land Geological Survey Division (LGSD), delivered by representatives from various divisions within the MGB, including LGSD, the Policy, Planning, and International Affairs Division (PPIAD), Mining Technology Division (MTD), Mining Tenements and Management Division (MTMD), Mineral Economics, Information, and Publication Division (MEIPD), and Metallurgical Technology Division (MeTD).

The visit concluded with an afternoon tour of the MGB museum and the MeTD Laboratories, offering participants a hands-on glimpse into the practical aspects of their field.
