In support of the growth and sustainable development of micro and small enterprises, representatives from the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) participated in the “Disaster Preparedness and Business Continuity Plan Training” held from November 6 to 8, 2024, at the Cocoon Boutique Hotel in Quezon City. The training was organized by the Quezon City Small Business and Cooperatives Development and Promotions Office (QC-SBCDPO) and aimed to enhance the capabilities of Quezon City micro, small enterprises, and cooperatives (MSECs) in disaster preparedness and business continuity planning.
The MGB delegates, Senior Science Research Specialist Leopoldo T. Virtucio, who also serves as the Chairperson of the MGB’s Mines Central Employees Multi Purpose Cooperative, Inc. (MICECO), and Development Management Officer II Manuel D. Alzate III, Vice Chairperson of MICECO, participated in the seminar.
The QC-SBCDPO organized the seminar as part of its initiatives to support MSECs, recognizing the importance of equipping businesses with robust strategies to address emergencies. A report on the seminar's outcome will be submitted to MGB’s Administrative Division for potential adoption into MGB’s business continuity and public service continuity planning.
