Electrical Engineers from the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) Metallurgical Technology Division (MeTD) participated in the 49th Annual National Convention of the Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers (IIEE), which was held November 25 to 27, 2024, via an online platform and November 28 to 30, 2024, at the SMX Convention Center, Pasay City.

This event attracted approximately 8,000 delegates and over 20,000 visitors, bringing together professionals from various sectors locally and internationally. MGB MeTD Engineers, Cielo N. Gamus, Christian T. Emocling, and Francis John G. Gaffud were among the delegates.

Themed IIEE@49: Transformational Leadership Towards Sustainable Development and Global Recognition, the convention aimed to foster collaboration and promote advancements in the electrical engineering field.

A key highlight of the event was the 3E XPO 2024, an exhibition showcasing the latest innovations in electrical, energy, and electronics technologies. Featured topics included renewable energy solutions, energy efficiency technologies, environmental innovations, and electric vehicle advancements. The expo served as a platform for networking, knowledge sharing, and exploring cutting-edge developments driving sustainable growth.

The convention emphasized the vital role of transformational leadership in achieving sustainable development and global recognition for the electrical engineering community. It also provided attendees with valuable opportunities to connect with industry leaders, exchange insights, and explore technologies shaping the profession's future.

By participating in this event, the electrical engineers of MeTD demonstrated their commitment to staying abreast of industry trends and contributing to sustainable development goals.
