The Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) conducted a Training on Basic First Aid and Basic Life Support on November 6-7, 2024, equipping its personnel with essential lifesaving skills.
ld at the Multipurpose Hall on the third floor of the MGB headquarters in Quezon City, the training session was attended by employees across various divisions, emphasizing the Bureau’s commitment to fostering a safer work environment and enhancing emergency readiness among its workforce.
Employees from several divisions, including the Administrative, Financial and Management, Mine Safety, and Environmental and Social Development, participated in the event. Among the notable attendees were Carol Linn Samonte from the Mine Safety, Environment, and Social Development Division; Albertini S. Buca from the Metallurgical Technology Division; and Faye Ann De Leon from the Marine Geological Survey Division. The training covered critical skills, including CPR, wound care, and other first-aid techniques essential for handling emergencies effectively.
The initiative underscores MGB’s dedication to employee welfare and workplace safety. By conducting hands-on training, the Bureau aims to ensure that staff members are prepared to respond to medical emergencies both within and outside of the workplace.
