The Mines and Geosciences Bureau Employees’ Association Central Office (MGBEA CO) celebrated 43 years of dedicated service and advocacy during its Employees’ General Assembly held on April 29, 2025. Established in 1982, MGBEA is among the oldest employee unions under the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), committed to upholding workers' rights and welfare.

Anchored in the 2017 MGBEA-MGB Collective Negotiations Agreement, the assembly provided a venue for open dialogue between employees and management to foster stronger collaboration and workplace harmony.

Festivities began with a Thanksgiving Mass, followed by a program at the MGB Multipurpose Building. Messages from Engr. Danilo Deleña, on behalf of MGB OIC Director Engr. Michael V. Cabalda, and Acting Chapter President Ms. Ma. Lourdes Stephanie V. Leido, highlighted the importance of unity, cooperation, and employee empowerment.

A key feature of the program was the leadership turnover and oath-taking ceremony for new officers, reinforcing the organization’s commitment to continuity and service. Membership updates, 2024 accomplishments, and financial reports were also presented by Ms. Glenda Quinto, Ms. Leido, and Mr. Ariel Villanueva, respectively.

With the theme “MGBEA as Partners in Fostering Workplace Satisfaction and Organizational Effectiveness,” the event reaffirmed the value of a strong employee-management partnership in achieving organizational goals.

In her closing remarks, Engr. Carina D. Pecson encouraged continued engagement and open communication, underscoring the association’s role in promoting a supportive and productive work environment.
