The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) recently cancelled the Mineral Production Sharing Agreement (MPSA) No. 178-2002-XIII granted to Ms. Concordia R. Llave due to the failure of the Contractor to comply with its obligations under the law. The said MPSA covers 253.1375 hectares located in Jabonga and Santiago, Agusan del Norte.
In its Order dated January 29, 2016, the DENR cancelled the said mining contract in view of Ms. C. R. Llave's failure to:
- implement the approved Exploration and Environmental Work Programs during the initial term and first renewal of its Exploration Period in violation of the pertinent provisions of Section C.2 of DENR Memorandum Order No. 2010-04; and
- comply with all the reportorial requirements from 2010-2014, in violation of the pertinent provisions of Sections 39 and 270 of DENR Administrative Order No. 2010-21.
