The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) recently conducted the  "General Orientation on International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2008 Aligned Quality Management System" as part of the action plan of DENR in its bid for ISO certification.

The DENR is now complying with all the requirements for ISO certification to effect actual improvements in public governance in recognition of the ISO 9000 series which ensures consistency of products and services through quality processes. 
 
The Orientation is also in compliance with the Executive Order No. 605, series of 2007 which directs the Institutionalization of Quality Management Systems in Government. In turn, the DENR issued Special Order No. 701 dated December 9, 2014 authorizing the conduct of the activity. 
 
Director Leo L. Jasareno, in support of the DENR’s ISO 9001:2008 certification, enjoined the participation of all employees of the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB). 
 
Heeding the call of Director Jasareno, all employees participated in the said Orientation held on December 12 and 15, 2014 at the DENR Social Hall.
