The Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) Chorale staged its debut performance before a national audience at the first Philippine Environment Summit held last February 9 to 11 at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia Complex in Pasay City.
Under the baton of Ms. Agnes V. Lapresca, the MGB Chorale is, at present, the only remaining choral group in the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR). It continues to bring pride and honor to the agency with its various performances.
The MGB Chorale first wowed its audience during its first concert staged at the Bahay ng Alumni of the University of the Philippines (UP) in December 2013. The proceeds of this concert were donated to MGB employees in Region VIII who were affected by Typhoon Yolanda.
A second concert was held at the same venue in December 2014.
Last February 20, the MGB Chorale was invited to perform during the closing ceremony of the UP Program for Environmental Governance of UP-PEG held at the DENR Social Hall.
The UP-PEG is a special program of UP in partnership with the DENR designed to strengthen the competence of environmental authorities, especially those at the forefront of implementing government programs and policies on natural resources development and environmental protection.
The MGB Chorale performs every first Monday of the month during the flag raising ceremony at the MGB.
