Ten (10) Mines and Geosciences Bureau technical personnel from the Central Office, Regional Office (RO) No. X and RO No. XII attended various training programs, conferences and meetings abroad in the first quarter of 2016, sponsored by several international organizations.

On the other hand, Mr. Kevin L. Garas, Senior Geologist, was granted a 2-year Monbukagakusho Scholarship by the Government of Japan. He has already left for Japan on April 1, 2016 to take Geochemistry, a graduate degree program under the Research Student Scholarship Category at Hokkaido University. He will earn a master's degree after finishing the course.
