The Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB), represented by the personnel from its Financial Management Division, recently attended the Batch IV of Lecture Series on Good Governance entitled "Integrity, Transparency and Accountability in Public Service (ITAPS)" conducted by Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).

The one-day learning event aimed to inculcate public service values throughout the department. Ms. Ma. Raizza Astete, Atty. Althea Magpantay and Atty. Francis Palacio from the Office of the Obudsman were the resource speakers of the said learning event.

A series of workshop and group discussions were conducted to identify, discuss and define the ethical norms of behavior of government officials, causes and effects of corruption and the features of Philippines anti-corruption laws. Integrity test was given to learners to assess their individual level of integrity.

The central message of the ITAPS is "Zero Tolerance to Corruption."

At the end of the lecture, learners vowed their Pledge of Service to: stop doing and justifying their bad habits to ends its contribution to corruption; start manifesting their values in everyday life and be a good example to others and continue their best practices and encourage their fellow public servant to do the same.

The said lecture was held on May 31, 2016 at the DENR Social Hall, in Quezon City.
