The Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) recently participated in several activities in commemoration of the 2015 Earth Day with the main theme “Earth Day Everyday, Everywhere, for Everyone.”

Last April 19, six MGB employees participated in the bike parade organized by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) in partnership with the National Bicycle Organization.  The earth day ride, with the theme “Community Ride for Clean Air and Road Sharing,” started in Tiendesitas, Pasig City and passed through the cities of Pasig, Mandaluyong, Makati, Pasay, Manila, and Quezon City.

Last April 25, 23 MGB employees joined the P.R.O. Earth Run 2015 at the grounds of the Mall of Asia.  P.R.O. Earth Run 2015 is an advocacy run spearheaded by the Earth Day Philippines to encourage people to “Protect, Respect, and Oversee” the sensible and sustainable care of Mother Earth.  MGB employees ran in the 10K, 5K, and 3K categories.  

The said activities were among those lined up by the DENR in its week-long celebration of the 45th Earth Day.
