The 2019 Capability Training on Mineral Resource Management for the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) Embedded Personnel at the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) – Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO)/Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) for the Mindanao and Luzon Clusters were held last May 24 to 26, 2019 at the Panorama Summit Hotel in Davao City and May 28 to 30 at the Hotel Lucky China Town in Manila, respectively.
Serving as the focal persons of the MGB in the implementation of mining laws, regulations and priority projects, the one hundred nineteen (119) embedded personnel, who participated in the 3-day seminar, were equipped with basic information on: (a) Mining Tenement Management, (b) Mine Safety, Environment and Social Development, (c) Small Scale Mining, (d) Mineral Processing, (e) Geology and Geohazard Mapping, and (f) Law Enforcement.
The hiring of embedded personnel in the PENRO/CENRO was a part of the DENR’s action on strengthening the enforcement of mining and environmental laws at the provincial level. They will be assisting both the PENRO and CENRO in conducting preliminary investigations and assessment of issues in the mining sector.
The Capability Training on Mineral Resource Management for the Visayas Cluster will be held on June 25 to 27, 2019.
