The Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) Central Office, recently held an hour-long press conference directed to intensify its campaign to promote responsible mining on September 24, 2019 at Max’s Restaurant, Quezon City Circle Food Complex. It was attended by MGB officials and personnel, as well as representatives from different media companies of the Philippines.

MGB Acting Director Wilfredo G. Moncano was joined by Engr. Rodolfo L. Velasco Jr., Chief, Mining Safety Environment and Social Development Division; Engr. Teodorico A. Sandoval, Chief, Mining Technology Division, MGB; and Mr. Antonio N. Apostol Jr., Chief, Lands Geological Survey Division, MGB, as panelists of the press conference.

The panelists answered the queries of the members of the press on the issues concerning the state of the nation’s different mining operations.

The said press conference is considered as one of the highlights of MGB’s campaign launch on responsible mining in the country. It aims to draw media attention to heighten awareness on the role of the bureau, its directives, and the importance of its existence in the government.
