The Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) has issued a memorandum on June 5, 2020, stating the guidelines and protocols for the operation of the MGB Central Office (CO) Library during the General Community Quarantine or "New Normal". The guidelines are to be implemented to ensure the diminished spread of COVID-19 within the premises.
The Mineral Economics, Information and Publication Division (MEIPD) of MGB shall prepare and post advisories through the MGB website and social media platforms, informing and encouraging visitors/researchers to course their queries via telephone or email.
As a precautionary measure, the library information counter will be covered by a plastic or transparent barrier to ensure the safe distance between visitors and staff. It will also be regularly disinfected. An alcohol/sanitizer will also be available for visitors on the counter.
The MGB-CO Library will only cater to a maximum of four (4) walk-in visitors and shall observe strict physical distancing and is required to wear a face mask. A contact tracing form shall be provided by the library staff to be filled out by the visitor/researcher and shall be surrendered to the guard at the MGB lobby prior to leaving the premises.
The guidelines/protocols shall take immediate effect and is subject to lifting, modification, or may be superseded by later guidelines.
