The Administration Division of the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB), along with the personnel from the Quezon City Health Department (QCHD) , arranged a rapid testing for MGB personnel last July 14, 2020. The said rapid testing was headed by Dr. Felisa G. Luna, M.D., Medical Officer III, Officer-in-Charge, QCHD, and assisted by Mr. Bernard B. Yumang, Chief Medical Technologist, QCHD, in handling the said test.

Dr. Ethelvee D. Mataga, and Dr. Palma R. Gundran of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) assisted MGB in coordinating with QCHD as well as the provision of test kits. Also, Mr. Rolando R. Castro, Director, Administrative Service, DENR, and Engr. Guillermo V. Estipona, Jr., OIC Chief, General Services Division, DENR, lent a helping hand for the provision of tables designed for rapid testing.

A total of 171 MGB employees volunteered for the said testing, including personnel from the security and janitorial services. The testing was not only conducted in compliance of the country’s efforts in the fight against COVID-19, but to increase further strict safety and health measures to MGB personnel as they report to the Office amidst the pandemic.
