Heavy rains and flash floods swept the area of Barangay San Isidro, Korondal City last July 28, 2020. The incident left a total of 145 families affected and leaving 15 of them homeless as their homes were washed away.

The Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Office No. XII (MGB-RO XII) extended aid to the affected families; prioritizing the displaced ones during the distribution of basic commodities they donated including kitchen utensils, food packs, and unused clothing.

Barangay Chairman John Lloyd Gabutin stated that the affected families residing in Purok Pagkakaisa looked for shelter in hotel establishments. During the distribution, Gabutin said “We put focus on the 15 displaced households. They are left with nothing as their houses were damaged by the flood. On behalf of my constituents, we thank everyone who helped us in providing our emergency needs,”

MGB-RO XII published a flood hazard advisory following a geological site investigation which was conducted at Purok Pagkakaisa. Recommendations were also presented to the barangay council to mitigate future negative impacts of the geohazards identified.
