On January 4, 2021, Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) Acting Director Atty. Wilfredo G. Moncano appointed Engr. Dondi M. Sarmiento as the new Officer-in-Charge (OIC) Regional Director of MGB Regional Office (RO) No. IV-A (CALABARZON).

Engr. Sarmiento previously held the position of OIC-Chief of the Mine Management Division of MGB RO No. IV (CALABARZON).

The designation of Engr. Sarmiento came after the official retirement of former Regional Director Samuel T. Paragas.

The turnover ceremony was held in the MGB conference room, on the 3^rd floor of the Multipurpose Hall at the MGB Compound. It was attended by MGB Acting Director Atty. Moncano, MGB Asst. Director Atty. Danilo U. Uykieng, and Department of Environment and Natural Resources Assistant Secretary Nonita S. Caguioa.
