The Mines and Geosciences Bureau information technology specialists from the Mineral Economics, Information, and Publication Division took part in a training titled Configuring Web Apps Using Web AppBuilder for ArcGIS (CWAB) last April 8, 2021. In line with safety protocols during this pandemic, the training was held online via Zoom.

The webinar was organized by Geodata Systems Technologies, Inc. (GSTI), with CWAB aiming to instruct how to create intuitive and focused web applications that are accessible on both desktop and mobile devices without the need to write any code. The course was under the guidance of Mr. Daryl Jose Deanon, Geographic Information Systems specialist, Training and Technical Support Division, GSTI.

Attendees went through a pre-assessment exam prior to the course starting, with the program encouraging interaction through a corresponding exercise after each and every lesson. A total of four activities were implemented, namely: 1) Introduction to Web AppBuilder for ArcGIS; 2) Applying themes to web apps; 3) Configuring widgets in web apps; and 4) Building a 3D web app. A post-assessment exam, training evaluation, and a virtual graduation was held before officially closing the program.
