The Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) conducted the annual Tenement, Safety and Health, Environment, and Social Development (TSHES) Workshop on April 19-23, 2021 via Microsoft Teams.

Atty. Wilfredo G. Moncano, MGB Director together with Engr. Marcial H. Mateo, Mine Safety, Environment, and Social Development Division (MSESDD) Chief, and Engr. Larry M. Heradez, Mining Tenements Management Division (MTMD) Chief, formally opened the event and welcomed the 210 virtual attendees of the said workshop (135 participants from MSESDD and 75 from MTMD/ Mine Management Division (MMD).

During the workshop breakout sessions, technical personnel from MTMD, MMD, and MSESDD discussed the following: (1) Results of CY 2020 TSHES Systems Audit; (2) Proposed amendment of the existing guidelines in the conduct of monitoring of compliances; (3) SHES Manual; and (4) Other related policies.

On the other hand, Engr. Roland A. De Jesus, MGB Assistant Director, delivered the closing message and encouraged the participants to undertake their regional TSHES monitoring virtually, given the spike of COVID-19 cases across the country.

The said activity was attended by selected personnel of MGB Central Office and Regional Offices to discuss the results of the CY 2020 Audit of the Regional Monitoring System and other related matters.
