Each year, the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) Central Office, through its Mineral Economics, Information and Publication Division, conducts a stakeholders forum intended to present and discuss new mining policies to all stakeholders of the minerals industry. It is also an event where stakeholders could address their concerns to the government.
On June 8 and 9, 2021, MGB conducted its first virtual Stakeholders’ Forum entitled “Understanding Recent Policy Issuances Relating to Mining,” via online platforms, Zoom and Facebook Live.
The forum was attended by representatives from mining companies, national government agencies, local government units, academe, media, and non-government organizations.
Department of Environment and Natural Resources Assistant Secretary Nonita S. Caguioa was invited to grace the event and gave a message noting the importance of holding the forum. She says, it is vital to continue exploring avenues to improve on the policies of the industry. She also states the significance of continuing on being a proactive industry especially at this period where the nation relies on the minerals industry for the country's speedy economic recovery.

Uykieng, Chief, Legal Service Division; served as resource speakers during the event.
The topics that were presented are the following:
- Policy Issuances on Mining Tenements;
- Policy Issuances on Environmental Protection;
- Policy on Online Filing of Application and Payment;
- MGB MC 2019-002, Supplemental Guidelines to MC 2018-01;
- MGB MC 2019-007, Clarificatory Guidelines on the Rules of Appeal; and
- MGB MC 2019-007 and MGB MC 2020-008.
