Opposition lawmakers yesterday welcomed the Aquino government’s plan to grant a salary increase to the country’s 1.6 million state workers, stressing it should be prioritized under the proposed P3.002-trillion national budget for 2016. Leyte Rep. Ferdinand Martin Romualdez and Isabela Rep. Rodolfo Albano III said the proposed pay hike is badly needed by government workers.
