Metallic mineral production value in the first quarter of the year reached P23.72 billion, up 7.17 percent from P22.14 billion in the same period last year, according to Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) data. Production of nickel ore and mixed nickel-cobalt sulfide accounted for 42.46 percent or P10.07 billion of total, a 29 percent jump from P7.83 billion in the first three months of 2014.
