HE DEPARTMENT of Finance (DoF) stood its ground on the Executive branch's mining revenue-sharing proposal -- in the face of industry opposition and signals from the legislative committee tackling the new scheme that it could be too prohibitive -- with its head saying that the Philippines had every right to be "aggressive" in increasing taxes on firms seeking to profit from the country's mineral resources.
