The Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) recently received reports of individuals/parties misrepresenting the MGB Director Leo L. Jasareno and fraudulently representing themselves as officials of the said office to solicit funds from certain mining companies in Mindanao.

The MGB enjoins the general public to be vigilant against those who might take advantage of the yuletide season for unauthorized and illegal monetary solicitations.

Similar scams surfaced in the past which prompted the MGB to post a fraud advisory in its website, which can still be viewed at present.
