Five former Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) Directors paid a courtesy call on Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Undersecretary and Concurrent MGB Director Mario Luis J. Jacinto today.

The five distinguished former Directors are:

• Engr. Juanito C. Fernandez, Director from 1973 – 1986
• Dr. Guillermo R. Balce, Director from 1987 – 1989
• Geol. Joel D. Muyco, Director from 1989 – 1996
• Former DENR Sec. Horacio C. Ramos, Director from 1996 – 2005 and from 2006 – 2010; and
• Former DENR Undersecretary Jeremias L. Dolino, Director from 2005 – 2006

Aside from reminiscing the good old days, these pillars of the industry discussed the pressing issues that beset mining in the country today and how they can help address these issues in the practice of their profession as private practitioners.
