The Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) Central Office successfully conducted crackdown operations against illegal mining operations in Agusan del Sur through “Oplan Mine Crusher.”

“Oplan Mine Crusher” was formed by the National Task Force Mining Challenge of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) to stop the unabated illegal mining operations, pursuant to DENR Special Order No. 2018-53.

The MGB Central Office, together with the MGB Regional Office No. XIII, Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office, Community Environment and Natural Resources Office, and other government law enforcement agencies, conducted crackdown operations against illegal mining activities in Sitio Loring and Sitio Perez in Barangay Sta. Cruz, Municipality of Rosario; and Sitio Coo and Sitio Tinago, Barangay Consuelo, Municipality of Bunawan in Agusan del Sur on May 21, 2018.

The operations resulted in the confiscation and seizure of rod/ball mills including their appurtenances, equipment, implements and materials utilized in illegal small-scale mining activities.
