The Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) has released the selection process timeline of the nation’s nominees for the second ASEAN Mineral Awards (AMA), a project of the Special Task Force, for the Recognition of Best Practices in Environmentally and Socially Sustainable Mineral Development. The competition is composed of three categories: Best Practices in Metallic and Non-Metallic Minerals Mining, Best Practices in Metallic and Non-Metallic Mineral Processing, and Best Practices in Metallic and Non-Metallic Minerals Distribution.

The deadline for the acceptance of submissions and nominees is February 15, 2019. The evaluation and selection procedures for the entries will end on March 6, 2019. The Technical Working Committee will constitute of MGB’s technical division chiefs and will be assisted by the Philippines-AMA (PH-AMA) Secretariat. Successful listings will be submitted to the Board of Judges of the PH-AMA on March 31, 2019 and the announcement of shortlisted projects will be on September 2019.
