MGB News

The Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) Central Office (CO) sustains the certification for ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS) and ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System (EMS) following the series of surveillance audits conducted by SGS Philippines, Inc. on December 17 and 18, 2020.

Given the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic, the said surveillance audits were undertaken virtually via Microsoft Teams to adopt with the community quarantine measures of the government and to ensure the safety of both the ISO auditors and auditees.

MGB CO is currently an accredited agency for the implementation of its first year of ISO 14001:2015 EMS and in the second year of ISO 9001:2015 QMS implementation.

Since the three-year QMS certification cycle of MGB CO will end in CY 2021, a recertification audit is scheduled in the same year. During the said recertification audit, the management of the MGB CO intends to enroll other processes under the QMS scope to ensure standardization of all its processes and service delivery.
