Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) Director Leo L. Jasareno is a staunch Gender and Development (GAD) advocate. During this Women’s Month celebration, he openly expressed support for having  more female leaders in the agency.  He said that it is high time to junk the conservative mind-set that leadership is a man’s turf.

“Women at MGB have equal rights to full participation and equitable representation in the agency’s decision-making and policy-making processes,” Jasareno said. His pronouncements reinforce the positive GAD culture at MGB, where there is further room for women leadership even as four out of the 10 divisions are already headed by women.

To emphasize the theme for this women’s month celebration, Juana, Desisyon Mo ay Mahalaga sa Kinabukasan nang Bawat Isa, Ikaw Na!; and as a tribute to all the MGB women leaders, Director Jasareno  announced that the regular management and staff meeting on March 24, 2015 and March 31, 2015 will be chaired by two (2) women Division Chiefs – Dr. Yolanda M. Aguilar, Officer-In-Charge of the Marine Geological Survey Division and Ms. Eloisa L. Legaspi, Chief of the Finance Division. Hooray for women power!
