Sixteen chemists from the Metallurgical Technology and Lands Geological Survey Divisions of the Mines and Geosciences Bureau Central and Regional Offices participated in the 32nd Annual Philippine Chemistry Congress (PCC). This year’s theme was “Chemistry. Changes. Choices.”

The Congress is an invitation to foster continuous love for learning and to allow this to manifest in quality education. It aims to add knowledge, not only in the field of chemistry, but also in its interaction with other disciplines. More importantly, it promotes cooperation, collaboration and camaraderie among chemists, researchers and educators by sharing and discussing current issues and trends for the advancement of the practice of Chemistry.

The three-day event featured research paper and poster presentations of the recent developments and innovations in the field of chemistry.

Approximately 2,000 chemists from the government, academe and private sector attended the event.

The Congress was held from May 31 to June 2, 2017 at the Asturias Hotel in Puerto Princesa, Palawan.
