The Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB), represented by MGB Director Wilfredo G. Moncano, MGB Cordillera Autonomous Region (CAR) Director Ms Fay W. Apil and Officer-in-Charge (OIC) - Chief, Mineral Economics, Information and Publications Division, MGB Central Office Ms Liz Cherry D. Solijon, attended the 2018 China-ASEAN Mining Cooperation Forum and Exhibition (CAMCFE) at Nanning International Convention & Exhibition Center, Nanning Red Forest Hotel, Nanning, Guangxi, China.
The 2018 CAMCFE, held on November 14-18, 2018, featured the theme: “Focusing on Silk Road Cooperation, Striving for Green Mining Development.”
The event five-day event consisted of a series forums and seminars that focused on the following topics: Green Mining Enterprises Development; Mining Projects and Technical Cooperation; Geosciences Cooperation Research; Enhancing Mining Information Service; Development and Exploitation of Major Mineral Resources; Promotion of in-depth development of China and ASEAN mining economy; and China-ASEAN Mining Information Service and Mineral & Geology Online Database Construction.
The 2018 China-ASEAN Mining New Technology, Mining Machinery & Gems Expo was also held on the last day of the event. This year’s theme was “Uniting the Silk Road Wisdom, Strengthening International Cooperation, Developing Green Mining and Sharing a Better Life.”
The exhibition symbolized good vision of the cooperation and development of green mining for the new age. It showcased the different kinds of new technologies, new results, new information and new instruments and equipment concerning geological exploration and mining development. All kinds of gems and jade, jewelry and other ornamental stones were also displayed.
It also served as a platform for sharing knowledge to understand China-ASEAN mining development trend.
The event is part of the series of the 15th China-ASEAN Expo, China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit, and has successfully been held for eight consecutive years which made it an important platform for the mining financing cooperation and communication in the ASEAN Region.
It has also played a significant role in promoting and deepening the substantive exchanges and pragmatic cooperation between China and ASEAN countries in the mining sector.
The event was sponsored by the People’s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China; and Ministry of Natural Resources of the People’s Republic of China; and organized by China Geological Survey; Guangxi Department of Land and Resources; Department of Science, Technology and Internal Cooperation; Ministry of Natural Resources of China; Guangxi Bureau of Geology & Mineral Prospecting & Exploitation.
It was attended by representatives of the mining industry in the ASEAN member countries, local and foreign exhibitors.
