The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) - Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) conducted the “National Unified Information, Education, and Communication Program (NUIECP) Communications Plan and Communications Workshop with Regional Directors” at SEDA Vertis North, Diliman, Quezon City on January 31, 2025. The participants include Regional Directors from the MGB Regional Offices, MGB Central Office Division Chiefs, and NUIECP Steering Committee officers and members. The said event aimed to enhance the understanding of NUIECP Communications Plan and foster collaboration for its implementation across regional offices.

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), through the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB), successfully conducted a “Stakeholders’ Consultation on the Proposed Amendments to DENR Administrative Order (DAO) No. 2010-21” on January 30, 2025, at SEDA Vertis North, Quezon City. The event gathered key stakeholders from the mining industry, government agencies, local government units, media, academe, and civil society organizations to discuss the proposed streamlined procedures for processing mining permits.

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources - Mines and Geosciences Bureau (DENR-MGB) has made a landmark contribution to the mining industry by reinforcing environmental safeguards and protecting the rights of local mining communities, particularly through the implementation of the Social Development and Management Program (SDMP).

The Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) participated in the Joint Consultation Meeting on High Conservation Value Area (HCVA) and Reference Ecosystem held at the MGB Multi-Purpose Hall, Diliman, Quezon City on January 23, 2025. The said meeting was also attended by representatives from the Ecosystems Research and Development Bureau (ERDB), Biodiversity Management Bureau (BMB), Forest Management Bureau (FMB), Biodiversity Corridor Project, and the USAID Sustainable Interventions for Biodiversity, Oceans and Landscapes (SIBOL) Project, with discussions focusing on policies and guidelines related to conservation and mine rehabilitation activities.

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), hosted a comprehensive webinar titled, "Circular Economy 101 for Media Professionals" on January 21, 2025. The event aimed to enhance media practitioners' awareness and understanding of circular economy principles and equip them to effectively communicate this critical approach to sustainable development.
The hybrid event, held at the Luxent Hotel in Quezon City and streamed via Zoom, brought together participants from various sectors, including government agencies, media outlets, and environmental advocates.
